Week 45 - Transfer to Linclon, Pioneer Ward

Madeline says sorry for not writing better updates, she runs out of time on P-day! She did send me this story about Thunder she wanted to share with everyone:

So Thunder, the Native American recent convert I shared a picture with, has been struggling a lot, feeling like he is not doing anything wrong yet God is punishing him because he has had a lot of family members and close friends die since he joined the church last December. He has one brother, in particular, he is very close with who has been battling stage 4 cancer for a couple months. So yesterday, I was studying in the Book of Mormon and I got a really strong feeling that I should read the story of Job, but we weren't planning to see Thunder and I was studying for an investigator named Julius that we were planning to see. I changed my course anyway though because I am trying to be more in tune with the Spirit. Later we went to Julius and all went well, and the topic that I had been studying for him ended up not even really applying to what he needed. Then as we were driving home, Thunder called us and said told us his brother had passed away about 15 minutes earlier. We happened to literally be driving right by his apartment when he called us so we just parked our car and went to go see him, and I was able to share the story of Job and it brought him a lot of peace and comfort. It was really awesome. :)

Exploring Lincoln

Met a member of my new ward who reminded me SO much of someone... but I couldn't figure out who. Turns out it is the sister of Sister Trimmel, from my home ward!

This is one of the Husker players that saw us on our tour and ran up to us and shook all of our hands. He told us he is a returned missionary from the Oakland, CA mission and asked for a picture with all of us. Cool, because on the tours they are really strict on not taking pictures with or of the players walking around, but since he asked us for a picture, it was okay. The tour guide was so shocked!

Me and Thunder Warbonnet. He is Lakota Sioux and the coolest recent convert to the Pioneer Ward

Hurts Donuts. I got a cinnamon churro donut with carmel drizzle (called the Jesus, haha). Probably the best donut I have ever had.

Look at the Pioneer stone mural above me...

Lincoln

This lady we randomly tracted into gave me a tigers eye because we were talking about how much I love rocks. She is pretty awesome. Not interested in our message right now, but loves Jesus Christ!

Me, pointing to where it says "Brown"
